The program for be by photographer Tony Kirves of Hopkinsville, Ky who will discuss new technologies in Photography. The Print Contest Theme for August is: Independence – Photographs that illustrate the word “Independence “. Please bring no more than two 8×10 print entries to the meeting for judging and do not put any writing on the front or back of the photos.
The program for, June 7th, will consist of a”photography critique forum.” We want you to submit your images for critique by email to Rennan, Josh, or myself. We will organize them into a slide show and invite outside professional photographers to critique them.
Your name will not be mentioned in the critiquing process unless you want to identify the photograph(s) as yours. You are allowed to submit 2 photographs for critiquing. Even if you don’t post, you’ll find this forum enjoyable, revealing, and sometimes even inspiring and maybe learn something in the process.
A guideline will be emailed to members to help with preparing photos for submission (composition rules, etc.).

New Meeting Location

MCC has generously provided West Kentucky Photography Club a meeting place, with the use of their equipment. Please help us to keep the classroom and exterior cleaned up so that we can continue to utilize this space. Refreshments are provided in the hallway before entering the classroom. Please finish or dispose of drinks and/or food before entering the classroom as they are are not allowed in the classroom.

David Duhl will be the speaker Friday Night at 8 p.m. David’s presentation will be on wildlife and wildflower photography.

We strive to not only put on a good contest, but also to present information that will help participants become better photographers. The contest boundaries are the boundaries of Pennyrile State Forest. Photographs may be taken anywhere within the state park and state forest.
The categories of the contest vary, but they will always have a nature emphasis examples are wildlife, landscape, water. Bring your own camera. Registration is $35. Register at least one week before the event and get a $5 discount. Children 16 and under pay just $10.

Linda Miller was the runaway winner in the “Hint of Spring” competition. Linda caught a flock of Cedar Waxwings and pulled the winner from a big group of shots while the birds were checking out the Holly berry crop. Congratulations Linda.
